Care and Maintenance
Tables
b) Our lacquers meet the standards of BS6250 but no lacquer is scratch proof nor can it withstand sustained application of very hot dishes, plates etc. without some marking.
c) We recommend the use of table mats to provide greater protection for your table tops against heat and scratching.
d) Use a warm, damp and slightly soapy (diluted washing up liquid) cloth to clean your wooden table tops.
e) Do not use any spray cleaners or wax to clean your wooden table tops. Spray cleaners or waxes build up on the surface of the table and will, in time, leave marks on the surface of the table.
f) We recommend that anti-bacterial sprays are not used because they may soften lacquer over time resulting in marking and a sticky finish on the table surface
g) Granite or marble table tops should be cleaned in accordance with the manufacturers’ recommendations.
h) Glass table tops should be cleaned with warm soapy water and dried to avoid smearing. If the top is removable ensure that care is taken to remove the top safely.
i) Laminate table tops should be cleaned in the same manner as timber table tops
j) Take care not to use rough or sharp edged tableware that will scratch or mark table tops
k) If tables are manufactured using nuts and bolts you should regularly check and tighten if necessary.
l) Do not drag tables as the joints will be weakened.
m) Jameson Seating Ltd will not be held liable for its wooden table top surface should it be obtained that cleaning has been done with D10 or similar sanitisers and that the above cleaning recommendations have not been adhered to.
Chairs, Sofas and Stools
b) Upholstery (fabric and leather) should be cleaned in accordance with the fabric manufacturers’ instructions.
c) Faux leather should only be cleaned using warm soapy water and then dried. Do not use chemical cleaners as these may cause hardening and cracking
d) Upholstered products may be vacuumed or brushed carefully to remove dust.
e) Foam will soften over a period of time
f) Some fabrics and leathers may stretch over time, for further details contact the manufacturer prior to specification.
g) Leaning on the two back legs of a chair will cause stress to the frame and may lead to breakage.
h) The nuts and bolts on bentwood chairs should be checked regularly and tightened if necessary.
i) Do not drag chairs, sofas or stools as the joints will be weakened.
Outdoor Furniture
a) Wooden components of outdoor furniture should be treated with an approved timber oil at least twice during the outdoor season.
b) Timbers such as oak, larch, teak and iroko will change colour over a period of time, often turning a silvery colour.
c) Cushions or other items of upholstery used with outdoor furniture should not be left outside during rain or other inclement weather. Customers will get wet if they sit on a wet cushion.
d) We recommend that wooden outdoor furniture should be protected from weather during the winter.
e) An approved oil should be regularly applied to metal parts that move (e.g. hinged components) to avoid rust or seizing up.
